Ummul Patrawala: My journey to mindfulness started in 2009 when I went through some challenges that turned my life inside out. My 2 young boys who were 4 and 3, had to step it up and take care of me full time:) And keeping it all together was my husband who had to be Mr. Mom and Dad. After 8 gruelling months when we thought we were out of the woods another setback that truly tested our faith. Family, spirituality and our mindfulness practice gave us the resilience to bounce back and come out of all of this stronger and with renewed faith and clarity. I decided to resign from my day job as a marketer and refocused my time towards all the the things that I realized matter the most. While I trained and educated myself on various meditation practices, and reconnected and strengthened my body and mind with Yoga, we started using the same with our kids. The journey has been full of learnings and deep gratitude, as we continue to find ways to keep connecting with the present moment and quieting our minds one breath at a time.
